ENHANCE
consulting teams for a project with your company!

The ENHANCE Program

What is the ENHANCE program?

A self-selected team of 4 to 7 Working Professional MBA students will tackle a well-defined business project provided by a participating company. A formal project submission and review process has been established for companies to provide project ideas/requests. Projects will address a real issue which an organization is facing, or for which it seeks consulting assistance. The project will be outlined in detail by company representatives, and will be further refined through interactions between the student consulting team and the company contact(s). Participating students are expected to commit an average of at least 3-5 hours/week over an 8-week period on the ENHANCE program.

How does it work?

You and your teammates will have the opportunity to resolve the designated problem by committing to work up to 80 hours during the eight weeks of June and July. You and your teammates must adopt the company’s project proposal after your initial scoping conversations with the key project participants. The team will present any tangible deliverables at the project’s completion. Members of the McCombs Executive Education staff will conduct mid-project reviews.

What’s in it for me?

This is an opportunity for you to gain exposure to an industry or functional business area that is new to you professionally. You will also make key contacts at your target company, and develop strong working relationships with your fellow team members who will sometimes be in a different MBA Program for Working Professionals – further expanding your network.

This is also your chance to participate in a non-traditional internship-like activity to complement your class work and provide “real world” functional business experience. It will be cited on your résumé and has been a unique differentiator for our students in their dealings with recruiters.

When is ENHANCE?

Project idea package submissions are due to us in mid-April. Student engagement can begin as soon as a team is formed and a project is provided/selected, but no later than the first week of June, with final reports due to the company by the end of July. Our staff will conduct a mid-project review for each team in late June/early July to assure progress is on track.

If you think that your current company would be interested in sponsoring a no-cost ENHANCE project, or if you have any additional contacts for projects, please contact Steven Burton at steven.burton@mccombs.utexas.edu  with that information.

Interested in a team of top MBA consulting talent to attack a pressing business issue for your organization, at no charge?  Then join us in ENHANCE.

The ENHANCE program provides your organization with a consulting team of 4–7 McCombs School Working Professional MBA students to tackle an extended-length project that you define.

Many students entering the Professional MBA programs are looking to gain exposure to functional business areas that are new to them professionally.  Classes for these students run continuously for 22 months (33 months for the Texas Evening MBA), without a three-month summer break.  Therefore,

students are unable to participate in traditional internships.  The ENHANCE program helps fill this void in the MBA experience. Read more...
