MBA Career Services Alumni Resources
After you finish your McCombs MBA, you have access to various resources that are available to assist you in your job search, both now and in the future. The Following information explains some of the resources that will continue to be available to you after you graduate from McCombs.
MBA Career Services Career Advisors and Online Resources
Graduating students have
access to advising services and the MBA Career Services resources
through our website for four months post-graduation.
McCombs
Job Board
The McCombs Job Board is a website that is intended to exclusively
help McCombs students and alumni connect with full-time and
part-time job opportunities in the business sector. Postings in the
McCombs Job Board are not associated with on-campus interviews.
As an alumnus, the system will initially prompt you to update your contact information. It will only do this once. From there you will be able to post or search for jobs.

Online Library Access (Career-related and otherwise):
Remote access to library databases ends upon graduation. If you
would like library services past this time, you can call the
Library's courtesy borrowers desk at (512) 495-4300 to setup
courtesy access to many services. Many of the business databases are
also available in person at PCL and remotely through Texas public
libraries if you have a library card. Library cards are usually free
to users who live within the city/county library district. For those
outside of the library districts, many can obtain a library card for
a small fee. Please check with the public library of your choice.
Dorothy Carner and April Kessler will continue to be available this
summer to help with individual needs.
AccessUT
Students and alumni can use AccessUT to search for
professional/career-oriented full-time, part-time or internship
positions. AccessUT is UT EID password protected for students and
alumni:.
Lifetime E-mail
Students graduating after 2000 with a degree from the School of
Business are eligible for Lifetime Email Forwarding. This allows you
to keep receiving messages sent to your business school email
address after you graduate. If your email address changes, you only
have to visit the alumni website and change your forwarding address
to keep getting your messages. To set this up, visit your online
profile in the MOR database.
CareerLeader
A web-based self-assessment test specifically designed for MBAs, CareerLeader can give you insights into your skills, aptitudes, and
interests. Used by all the Top 20 MBA programs, Career Leader is the
best instrument available to help business graduates clarify their
career goals.
CareerLeader can be taken twice in one year with your purchase of a
password. As an alumnus, you will receive a $20 discount and can
take the assessment for $75. This includes a complete profile and
online assessment. Interested?

The On-Campus Recruiting System and Access after Graduation
The online recruiting system is designed to serve current students
at the McCombs and is intended to meet the needs of employers who
wish to have access to students in advance of their hiring needs.
Since the recruiting system is not intended for a “just-in-time”
hiring model, and recruiters are predominantly interested in
students rather than alumni for campus recruiting, we have set this
alumni policy to accommodate the best interest of students,
recruiters and alumni.
Students will have full access to all on campus recruiting systems
through their graduation date. After your graduation date (May,
August or December), you will be granted limited access for an
additional 4 months after graduation.
Alumni Magazines
The Exchange Magazine is an annual publication that serves as a
networking and career resource specifically for the MBA
community—its alumni, faculty, and students. Texas Magazine is
published twice each year and contains information on both the
College and Graduate Programs at the McCombs School of Business.
This publication includes business-related articles, alumni
profiles, and alumni updates.
McCombs Monthly
On a monthly basis, we send an electronic newsletter to those
alumni listed on the alumni distribution list. This newsletter
highlights Business School news and information, including items
such as alumni and faculty press mentions, updates on business
school events like MOOT Corp., and upcoming activities. To sign up
for email lists, visit your online profile:

Alumni Receptions:
Alumni receptions are great networking tools. If you already have a
job, they provide the ideal venue to meet alumni and classmates who
may be integral to your next job search. If you are currently
looking for a position, these receptions are a valuable opportunity
to network with alumni and classmates who may be able to assist you
with your job search.
